They say 'Big Brother' is watching! Well, with Public Transport is the Greater Western Sydney is 'Big Brother' is Transport For NSW, whilst 'Big Sister' is the Minister of Transport overlooking 'Big Brother'!


In Parramatta Yesterday, 'Big Brother' - NSW for Transport Officers were overlooking the jobs of Transport Ticketing Officers, who were gladly in great numbers, doing their job by checking tickets and implementing fines!

This is unusual as normally  as the Transport Ticketing Officers  mostly are unseen, except for CC TV's that are around! Do you think NSW for Transport should be watching all these Transport Ticketing Officers? Let us know!

Parramatta City Council's Light Rail Proposal - Do Residents Understand The Need For Public Transport Expansion And Improvement?

There are arguments for and against Light Rail expansion, but no arguments for public transport improvement or expansion as we are living in a growing society and  population.

Sydney was basically unplanned city and  it seems that we are way behind the times with public transport improvements and infrastructure to meet the demands of our growing and expanding population.

Before we think of making improvements we have to turn the clock back  say 200 years ago and vision what Parramatta's population was then and  also the community -  and here is what it looked like in 1812;



Now go forward another 200 years  see what  the population is and vision the surroundings of the community - Well actually, with over 170,000 residents today this is how part of Parramatta, is TODAY!




Can you see how developments for public transport improvements are required to make Parramatta, central part of Western Sydney and Sydney itself, work towards ensuring the future is covered?

Veola Buses Strike Traffic Jam - Mount Druitt Commuter!

Greg, from Lethbridge park one of the commuters that has been travelling for years commuting on public transport has told me a true story that has frustrated him travelling back home from Bankstown from work.

The situation delayed the bus trip for up to an hour as he caught the Veola 907 around 5pm from Bankstown to Parramatta reaching corner of Parramatta Road and Woodville Road Parramatta, that  it took hour to reach the end of Church Street and Argyle Streets. This problem and time delay was caused by traffic jams with private cars exiting Westfield Parramatta continuously. So  this means that private car  drivers were preventing  buses to run as per timetable. 

According to Greg, a lot of commuters were frustrated - maybe someone from Westfields can  do something to prevent traffic jams along the same stretch of road in the future!

Parramatta Ferry

The NSW Government will deliver a ferry service for commuters between Parramatta and the CBD.

An Expression of Interest process did not identify a proposal from the private sector to meet the Government and commuter’s needs, so the NSW Government has stepped in to deliver the service.

"This means people living and working in Parramatta will be able to catch a ferry directly to the city during peak hour," Mr Rees said.

"It will be an hourly service operating from 7am to 7pm weekdays and 8am to 6pm on weekends.

"The Ministry of Transport and Sydney Ferries are working closely together and I expect to see the new commuter ferry service between Parramatta and the CBD in operation for passengers by the end of the year."
