Metrobus M60 Starts - Parramatta, Castle Hill, Hornsby

Metrobus M60 connects Parramatta, Castle Hill and Hornsby, increasing the number of services on the Parramatta to Castle Hill route by almost 60 per cent, from 535 to 840 per week.

The M60 replaces the route 600 between Parramatta and Castle Hill and provides a brand new service linking Cherrybrook, Pennant Hills, Thornleigh and Hornsby.

It runs seven days a week, every 10 minutes in the weekday peak, every 15 minutes in the weekday off-peak and every 20 minutes in the evenings and on weekends.

The Metrobus network delivers frequent and direct services for the people of Sydney. The M60 is the 12th Metrobus route to be rolled out.

WSPTU Releases 2011 Election Policies Analysis

On Saturday February 5 WSPTU representatives from resident and transport advocacy groups from Greater Western Sydney met to discuss the proposals put forward by the Liberal/National and Labor parties in the lead up to the March 2011 State election.

In general, the WSPTU is very encouraged to see that both major parties have recognized the importance of public transport service provision, the development of public transport infrastructure and the importance of long-term, integrated transport and land-use planning.

However, people in Western Sydney largely travel in Western Sydney and it is very disappointing that the debate has come down to a trade-off between the North West Rail Link and the Western Express when there are other important ideas at stake.

Very importantly for WSPTU members there are some questions about what the Liberal Nationals would do with the bus system in Greater Western Sydney if they are elected.

Gladys Berejiklian and Geoff Lee to Meet Nth Parramatta Residents Action Group

The Oatlands / North Parramatta group, that has been campaigning hard for an extension to the 552 bus, is hosting a local meeting with the NSW Shadow Transport Minister, Gladys Berejiklian, and the local Liberal candidate, Geoff Lee, to discuss the 552 and other transport issues tomorrow. The meeing is tomorrow, Tuesday February 15, at the Bellarouse Village, 32 Prince St, Oatlands, from 10am.
